PARK HALL & THE  ENVIRONMENT

Farm FieldsAt Park Hall we are committed to looking after the countryside and environment and one of our aims is to recycle as much as possible. We hope guests will assist us by using the special bins provided for bottles, paper, plastics and vegetable waste. The vegetable waste will go on to our compost heap and we will re-cycle this on the farm fields.

We have specially prepared nature packs for guests who like us love wildlife, walking and the countryside. There are books on birds, mammals, wild flowers, butterflies and trees. Ordnance Survey maps are also provided along with binoculars and walking sticks. For those who would prefer to cycle we even have deluxe bicycles to hire by the day or for the whole of your stay. Local transport details can be found in the cottages for those who would prefer to leave their car behind.

We believe in guest’s comfort and our cottages are warm without waste. Each cottage has been designed with all floors, roofs and walls insulated, all windows and external doors double glazed and draught stripped, every radiator is individually controlled and all curtains double lined. The heating and hot water system is run on Economy 7. Energy saving light bulbs have been used but not everywhere, as we understand the need for good lighting within the cottages for reading.

Water buts are placed around the cottages and farm to collect rainwater to water the many hanging baskets that adorn the cottages and the lovely garden and courtyard plants.

At Park Hall we place great emphasis on the care of the environment and to provide a safe haven for the wildlife and birds that we share the countryside with. As well as providing nesting boxes for a wide variety of birds and providing various supplies of feed to see them through harsher times we also provide a rescue centre for those birds that are injured or in need of care. Nature walks and tours of the farm are available. Please just ask and we would be delighted to arrange this for you.

We believe in forging links and supporting the local community. If, like us, you would like to support our village why not try the many facilities and shops available. There are wonderful farm shops, Folly Farm, which provides good, local produce and Warren Farm for local crafts. We recommend, Barehams, for excellent quality, locally produced, meat. For art and craft workshops we have our local Watershed Studio, which runs a full programme of courses throughout the year.

Stay with us and support the countryside and the environment.
