In the former 14th century monastery Park Hall Country House, awarded 'Gold' status by Visit Britain and Winners of the 2005 Regional Enjoy England Awards for Excellence, is the perfect place to escape to for a romantic short break. With it's luxurious bedrooms, large lounges and open fireplaces you can relax and unwind browsing through one of the magazines provided, watching a selection of DVDs on the combined television unit, listening to one of the many CDs on the high quality music system or enjoying one of our many relaxation treatments. Let us arrange your special break with a choice of stunning bedrooms and lots more including delicious Aga home cooked breakfasts.

Relaxation Breaks

We offer a full range of fabulous relaxation treatments with a professional, friendly approach and special care and respect for you as an individual. Our aim is to ensure you feel relaxed, refreshed and revitalised after special attention in an idyllically peaceful environment in your own cottage or room in Park Hall Country House. If you  prefer we also have our own treatment room where you can relax in wonderful surroundings.

Treatments include a full range of massages including aromatherapy and also luxury facials, manicures and foot treatments. Examples include a Full Aromatherapy Body Massage using essential oils to combat fatigue, stress and provide a sense of well being and Luxury Facials that begin with a light, gentle touch therapy to deeply relax you followed with a purifying facial using products to suit skin type. Incorporated in the relaxing treatment is a scalp, face, neck and shoulder massage which finishes with a hand and foot massage.

It is advisable to book all treatments in advance so please let us know what Relaxation Treatments you would like and we will arrange these for you.

Weekend Breaks

Spend a long weekend in one of our beautiful oak beamed cottages, arriving on a Friday or a Saturday, and enjoy the very best of what the countryside has to offer. From October through to June stay the extra third night with our compliments. Or why not stay in the magnificent Bishop's Suite, the romantic four-poster Abbot's Room or the delightful Monk's Room in Park Hall Country House for a two-night special weekend break. Once the home of Abbot John of London, Park Hall Country House dates back to the early 14th century when it was an important monastery. Today it presents a wonderful setting for your weekend holiday.

Arrive to find a bottle of wine awaiting you, hand made chocolates by the bedside, luxury toiletries in the bathroom and an assortment of beverages in a gift basket. Start to unwind in the perfect relaxing location, in a beautiful setting surrounded by acres of open farmland yet near to the dunes, piers and promenades of some of the loveliest beaches. You can enjoy the many country leisure pursuits on offer too; including fishing, golf, cycling, and nature walks or just unwind and relax on your own private patio and enjoy the lovely gardens.

Mid-Week Breaks

For that special relaxing mid-week break, enjoy four nights in one of our exceptional award winning cottages or in the historic 14th century Park Hall Country House. Set in 600 acres of farmland yet near to the dunes, piers and promenades of some of the loveliest beaches you will be spoilt from the very start of your holiday.

Both the cottages and Park Hall Country House provide an excellent centre for a short break, where you can explore the lovely countryside and the many heritage villages near by. Recharge your batteries by relaxing in the beautiful gardens watching the wide variety of wildlife or take a stroll around our two beautiful well-stocked private fishing lakes, only a short walking distance away from the cottages and Hall. For the keen angler membership for guests is free during their stay with us. Free membership is also provided to the near by heated swimming pool and gymnasium where you can also enjoy a Swedish sauna or try the invigorating spa.

Family Holidays

For children there is the fun of exploring the wonderful countryside and building sandcastles on one of the many beaches. There are also lots of family attractions to visit too and activities to enjoy together. Why not spend a day at the Zoo? Colchester Zoo has some of the best cat and primate collections in Europe. See a White Tiger eye to eye in White Tiger Valley, or get closer to the Zoo's Chimpanzees at Chimp World.  Or is you prefer, croquet on the lawn, a leisurely day’s fishing, horse riding or a quiet stroll around one the farm trails – all only a few minutes away.
